Hello all, This coming Friday there is no class with Sofía Romanelli due to mid-term exams. Once finished, Prof. Luchini will be giving feedback to everyone that same day (Makeup Exam on Friday 30th). On Firday too, at 10am a talk will be delivered by Dr. Alves, specialist in Phonetics and Phonology, on his research in the field. Prof. Luchini will be giving feedback right before this talk. Please, attend. For those who need certificates, please contact Departamento de Lenguas Modernas. You do not need to register. Confirm venue with Departamento. Next Monday there will be regular classes both with Prof. Luchini and myself in the usual hours. On this day Prof. Luchini will work on more in-depth feedback on the exams and announce the schedules for the makeups. I will let you know about my 2nd TP in class. Also, this coming Wednesday from 6:30 pm to 9pm Dr. Alves will be giving a different talk on methodology in the field of phonetics and phonology. You are all welcome to attend. Wells: Assigned Reading

Hello all, Some students have mentioned that they could not find the pages I had assigned to read from Wells's book. The page numbers assigned and corresponding to Wells's book numbers are: For March 31st: pp187-206 (which include all Chapter 4 Tonality, including the section on "Adverbials"). For April 7th: 100-116 (from Compounds, Double-stressed compounds, The Old and the New, synonyms, and prospective and implied givenness).
