APRIL 23 LESSON

Hello!
We worked with sentences from "Online intonation", recorded and read from SWR. We also checked assignments on stress 1 and 2.
There r no classes with Peter on Friday because of final examination boards.
Examination dates:
April 27: dictation (TP)
May 04: TP feedback
May 11: Mid-term exam (dictation)

TUESDAY LESSON/THURSDAY LESSON

Hello!
Today we had quite a long dictation using all the tunes which took up most of the class.
Students also worked out the intonation patterns of the third part of "Frank´s first football
match"
Assignment for nex class: read "The reality of stress-timing" and transcribe "The hedhehog man(part 2). Pls apply sentence stress.
Thursday ppl: we´ll meet as scheduled and try to catch up!

APRIL 14

Hello!!
This is more or less what we did today..
* Sentences for dictation featuring all the tunes from "Online Intonation" (You can listen to them online at www.ucl.phon.ac.uk/johnm/oi)
* Silent reading, recording and practice of "FFFM" part 2, SWR II
* Written assignments 1 and 2: stress and prominence, rules for sentence stress
Assignments for next class: Assignment 8 (rhythm)
I´m joining the strike this Thursday

APRIL 07 LESSON

Hello!
Today..
*Revision of gral rules for sentence stress. Main topics concerning theory on stress (only 10-12 am group)
* Revision of main tunes and basic specific terms
* Silent reading, recording and practice of "Frank´s first football match" (Say with rhythm II)
* Sentence dictation: high and low fall, low-rise and fall-rise
* Next week assignment: assignments 1 & 2
